Pastoral Residency Job Posting and Application Process

Overview of the Internship

Thank you for your interest in an internship at Redemption Church at New Hope. We offer a full-time, 10-month internship program each year, beginning in August and concluding in May. Currently, we will receive a maximum of two interns per year. By offering this internship program, we pray that we will encourage and influence future pastors as they go on to serve the church. The internship is designed to equip you with knowledge in the areas of pastoral leadership and church polity.

The internship program is a full-time internship that fully immerses you in the life of the church, provides pastoral mentorship from the pastors, and instructs you through reading, writing, and conversations.

The majority of an intern’s office time will be spent reading, writing papers, and discussing those papers with the Lead Pastor and staff. Because of the brevity of the internship program, the ministry will not be built on the work of interns. However, there will be opportunities for some teaching and ministry experience. However, the bulk of the internship is focused on pastoral mentorship and study.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from men who are aiming at pastoral ministry and who can affirm the Redemption Church Covenant and Statement of Faith. Housing will be provided by the church through the hospitality of church members. Housing will be limited for families with children and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition to housing, the church will provide a stipend of $1200 a month to cover basic living expenses through the internship.

A Typical Week

In addition to the reading and writing assignments, each week includes mandatory attendance at staff meetings, elders meetings, all public services of the church, intern discussions, and any other spontaneous or planned meeting that arises in the course of the week. Interns can expect to provide hands-on support to the church staff with setup for events and office administration.

Additionally, interns will be asked to schedule one-on-one lunches with church leaders and a variety of members over the course of the internship. During their time at Redemption Church at New Hope, interns will become members of the church.
