Redemption Church at New Hope exists to Exalt Christ, Edify the Saints, and Evangelize the World for the Glory of God.

Exalt Christ

Redemption Church at New Hope exists to make much of Christ. As our Savior and Lord, we want to honor him with our lives and make much of him in our worship. God’s redemption of us as his people is the glory of his own name. As Peter wrote, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9, ESV). As those called out of the darkness of sin into the light of God’s glory, we want to proclaim the excellencies of Christ.

As part of our discipleship strategy, the first step begins through calling sinners to repent of sin and trust in Christ. As we proclaim the Gospel to our community, we pray men and women will repent of the vanity of their own exaltation, and exalt the only one worthy of worship, the Lord Jesus Christ. The first step of a person's discipleship journey is to confess Christ as Savior and Lord and exalt Christ as their king.

Though the entirety of the Christian life is one of worship, the weekly corporate worship of Redemption Church will be the weekly event in which we exalt Christ together.

Edify the saints

Redemption Church at New Hope will aim to edify the saints, building them up to Christian maturity. As Paul urges the church, “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,” (Ephesians 4:11–13, ESV). The church is to equip its members for ministry and build them up to maturity.

This ministry of edification will occur through the teaching ministry of the church as well as in the fellowship of Christian community through Community Groups.

evangelize the world

As Redemption Church at New Hope, we will join effort with one another to evangelize the world. We aim to have a sending culture in which men and women of God go about their community and world as evangelists. As Romans reminds us, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!'” (Romans 10:14–15, ESV)

Our work of evangelization will be accompanied with both mercy ministry and gospel proclamation. We will seek to do good in our city and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost. In addition, Redemption Church will seek to spread the kingdom of God beyond our own city as we plant churches and support missionaries all over the world.

for the glory of god

Redemption Church at New Hope exists for the glory of God. All that we do exists for the glory of our triune God. The great work of redemption he’s accomplished in choosing to save his church was done for the glory and fame of his name. As the people of God, we do all things in order to make much of God in our lives and world—“to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.” (Romans 16:27, ESV)
